Can't read it because of it being a .ppt extension. And office 2007 doesn't want to install for me

It is a power point presentation! Load powerpoint off your Office disk and you will be able to open it.

Fresh copy of Vista, and don't have basic programs like Office and adobe reader installed yet. And last time I tried to install office 2007 (Version compatible with Vista) it caused my entire PC to freeze.
