View Full Version : Censorship at Sunday Times

My gripe is with the Sunday Times interactive blog that has been a forum where you could really get stuck in and ref the issues that they publish. A couple of months ago, Gillian Anstey arrived on the scene as "reader's editor" and she is busy changing the face of the blog completely. She has the power to remove posts she deems racist and vulgar. This seems fair but the problem is that she censors only the white bloggers to smithereens and has the gall to send a headmistress type mail to inform you that you will be removed from the blog if you don't follow her rules. The "other"side is left to their own devises as they mos cannot be racist. This type of blatant BS has a lot of the regular, more vocal contributors moving to forums where this kind of menace is frowned upon.

I have been an active poster on the Times's forum for over a year now and the fact that we could be as tough as we wanted to be without pulling the dam was in my humble opinion a good thing as we came to know the points of view from all sides, how bad and pathetic it may seemed. With this new SS Gillian at the helm, freedom of speech is seriously under threat and I concur that the fact that the whites were hitting to close to the truth in many instances, had been the catalist for this clampdown. But suffice to say that our voice should never be silenced in this madhouse of a country as this is the one weapon that stretches all over the planet to get the truth out there!
