Which explains why I'm here, and grateful for it too, after a combined total of eleven years on Biltong Blues, the old M&G Open Forum, and the M&G Discussion Forums which started in June 1999.
As most will know, the Mail & Guardian on line has dropped discussion forums in favour of Thought Leader (guest writers) and comments on individual news stories. The discussion forums, hosted by MWeb and administered by PeterHD, are a separate entity. On December 31st, if not soooner, the forum.mg.co.za/ (http://forum.mg.co.za/) domain name will cease to exist.
PeterHD has promised to have a new forum with a different name and updated sofware running after New Year. Here's holding thumbs ...
In the meantime there are some South African forums worth further consideration.
Wrathex recommends:
http://www.dementia.co.za/forums/ and
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/index.php
iAfrica is the closest thing to the M&G when it was still linked to the Mail & Guardian online.
http://talk.iafrica.com/index.php
For South Africans living overseas:
http://www.x-za.com/forums/
http://www.southafrica.com/forums/
http://www.theswitchboard.net/index.php and
http://www.saaustralia.org/index.php
For a taste of Mother Africa:

Thank you for welcoming a homeless waif! ;)
Season's greetings, one and all ...
